In September, I'm finally making the big move downtown. I've spent the last ten years living in the suburbs and I'm ready to be within driving distance of all my favorite places. Plus, the suburbs are only fun if you have four kids, two dogs, and a mortgage. I have none of those things and besides my immediate family (and Target) I won't miss a thing.

The Des Moines Art Center recently acquired a new sculpture from famed Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama. It's hard to miss! It's shaped sort of like a pumpkin and adorned with polka dots. Truly, there’s nothing else like it downtown.
