From the central highlands to the coastal lowlands, from the canyons carved out by rivers to the mountainside pastures filled with sheep, Iceland is a country of unmatched geographic diversity. As a human among all that grandeur, the world feels like the biggest playground. Three friends and I spent a week driving the coastline and camping among the stars and northern lights.

Voiceover from a February 2007 speech by Maya Angelou at Evergreen State College.
Sam Fathallah is a local filmmaker here in Des Moines. I actually featured him about a year ago and you can read that feature here. Notice I didn't say he's "an aspiring filmmaker," because he's not. Sam is a filmmaker. I've watched this video five times already and the images coupled with that haunting Maya Angelou voice over have resonated within my heart.
I've never been to Iceland, but it kind of feels like I have now. Bravo, Sam.
