switchfoot performing in des moines
/ Evan Olson
Remember Switchfoot?
Their album, the Beautiful Letdown, played a major role in my musical coming of age. I wasn’t allowed to listen to much secular music growing up, but Switchfoot held just enough crossover appeal for me (and enough of a Christian worldview for my dad) that it made the cut. I vaguely remember purchasing a physical copy of the album. So 2003, right?
This fall the band is headed out on a tour entitled Switchfoot & Their Fantastic Traveling Music Show and they’ll be making a stop here in Des Moines on Thursday, October 3rd.
Ticket info can be found here. See you there?
p.s. a favorite song from that album.

I've long been a fan of Geronimo. You know her, right? She's a West Coast creative who specializes in balloons...and not balloon animals. When I saw Jackie's creations I was so excited because it reminded me of Geronimo's work and more importantly, it's happening right here in Des Moines!
You know I love anything to do with popup dinners (even though the term "popup" always feel too kitschy) and when I discovered Open Circuit Dining, I had to learn more.

My Midwest is Showing is one of my favorite sites. Sammy Walsh focuses exclusively on Midwestern folks and I just feel like that group is severely underrepresented....until now!
